ABOUT US
“While women weep as they do now, I’ll fight; while little children go hungry as they do now; I’ll fight. While men go to prison, in and out, in and out, I’ll fight. While there yet remains one dark soul without the light of God, I’ll fight-I’ll fight to the very end.”
These are powerful words from William Booth, the founder of The Salvation Army. Men and women are weeping, children are hungry, men and women are going to prison and there are dark souls; The Salvation Army is still fighting. What began in 1865 on the streets of London continues over 140 years later providing “soup, soap and salvation,” to those in need internationally, throughout the United States and in your backyard. The Salvation Army still continues to fulfill its mission “…to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.”
The Salvation Army Irving Worship and Community Center is fighting and has been impacting your community since 1983. Lives of families and individuals are touched on a daily basis through the Church and its programs and services such as; after school activities, youth sports, performing arts classes, summer camp, the Gene and Jerry Jones Family Center for Children, Angel Tree, and emergency assistance. The programs offered at The Salvation Army Irving provide families and children not only a helping hand, but an opportunity for all to learn, grow and excel in a positive, nurturing environment.
